Shibori Workshops
Shibori Preparation Workshop (May 21st, 2-4pm): An opportunity to learn different techniques for dyeing: designs, folding, tying and stitching. Trudy, an experienced dyer with a degree in textiles, will leading the afternoon. While not required for participation in the Shibori Dyeing Day, this preparation afternoon is highly recommended. There will be opportunity to begin preparing items for dyeing.
Shibori Dyeing Workshop (May 28th, 1-4pm): An afternoon of working with indigo dye. Be sure to wear dark clothes and bring a white fabric item, made with natural fibers that has been washed and ready for dyeing. Please bring a plate of food to share.
There will be an assortment of bags to purchase for $3. If you would prefer to dye a different item (such as a scarf, napkins, surong etc), please bring an item that is white and made of 100% natural fibers (cotton, linen, silk). Syntheic fabrics are not suitable for dyeing.
This is a great opportunity to invite friends and family who would not normally come to a church event.
Cost is $10 and covers activities at both workshops
